Friday 3rd August - Departure
We're sitting here at the airport, triple checking we've packed everything we need (and know all too well that it's too late now), still trying desperately to figure out how to use our GPS devices.
For the first time in months, we've had the chance to reflect on the decision we made ten months ago to sign up and compete in the Mongol Derby, the world's toughest equestrian race. We saw it as not only a huge personal challenge, but as an opportunity to raise money and awareness for a cause that affects our family so profoundly.
We've said it a hundred times, and we'll say it again ... thank you. We have been so overwhelmed by the support and grateful to everyone who has got behind in some way. To date, we've raised $155,000 for MS Research Australia with more donations still coming in. It's beyond what we ever thought possible.
We arrive in Ulaanbaatar on Saturday and spend three days prepping - including the highly anticipated weigh-in (Ed will be fasting in the lead-up) - with the race starting on Wednesday.
We can't wait to get to the start line.
